Rincon, Puerto Rico

The landscape of Rincon, Puerto Rico, home of the first Wide World of Sports surfing competition, was incredible for photos. It was an untouched, non-tourist location. All of the houses were so colorful, but the longer I looked at them the cracks and damages would become apparent. It gave the people who lived in these houses character.

It was a pleasant reminder seeing how these houses weren't new or polished because they were still so beautiful.

The photos below are a mixup of film (color and black & white) and digital. Rincon's beautiful beaches were occupied by dedicated surfers, bonding families and individuals taking a quick break from reality. I had the opportunity to visit the Gozalandia Hiking Arena. The waterfalls and overgrown pathways made me feel like I was transported straight into the middle of the jungle.
