Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

It's 100 degrees out, my father and I decide on a spur to take the top off our jeep and take a ride down the West Side Highway to check out the new David Bowie exhibit being shown at the Brooklyn Museum. At our arrival, we see crowds of people wearing funky clothes and Bowie inspired outfits. I was totally loving the vibe of the place already. I regretted not bringing my big platform boots. Walking up to the counter I could see people turning around with disappointment written all over their faces. The show was sold out. "David Bowie Is" was completely sold out until July 15, which is when the show was being taken down. After a moment of slight cursing and frustration, my dad and I came up with the idea to stroll through the Brooklyn Botanical Garden which, luckily was right next door to the museum. The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens was absolutely beautiful. It was hard to believe that I was in the middle of Brooklyn. Every flower and plant you could think of was located somewhere in the park. If you ever need a break from the loud and busy hustle of the city, take some time and make a detour to the Botanical Gardens. You will not regret it!
