WVOF 88.5
Hey guys,
It's a fresh new semester for me at Fairfield U (aka FU). Theres something magical and even nostalgic in a way about being on a college campus in the fall. Being a sophomore now, I can say only being at school for about a month now is already way better than Freshman year. Not being a freshman in itself, just makes things 100x better. The fall weather too is just perfect, not too hot and not too cold. Walking around the campus and seeing students sprawled out on the perfectly cut grass (because we all know how much Fairfield loves their landscaping) doing homework or simply catching up with one another is truly heart warming. When I picture myself at Fairfield, I see myself on a fall day, listening to my tunes (probably something by Wilco or Mitski), wearing a pair of very worn out jeans and converse, and carrying my books to class or to a friends room.
The fact that I'm not a freshman anymore isn't the only great thing about this year. I got a job working at the University's radio station, WVOF 88.5, which by the way is AWESOME. I absolutely love the people that I am working with and also telling people that I work for FU's radio station is in itself super cool. I am currently the assistant music director so I am in charge of making playlists for the school, hosting music club, helping students with their own radio shows, and everything in between the lines.
The studio is cozy and welcoming, making me feel right at home with the album covered walls. We even got a roku installed over the summer! It really is the best place to do homework and chill out.
As you can see we have just about every genre of music posted up on our walls with hundreds of beloved albums. See if you can spot your favorite album:)
Peace out,
Julia
