The Museum of Ice Cream (NYC)

Hi again!

I hope everyone is enjoying the start of the new year. I feel like 2020 is going to be a good year even though it was kicked off with Australia going up into flames (sending my love to all the animals and people affected by it) and talk about WWIII happening. We can only go upwards from here! (Well.....maybe I’m a bit of an optimist).

I am writing this post in some overpriced cafe located in Montreal, Quebec. It is exactly 6 degrees fahrenheit today (yippie!). Only a week into the new year and I’m already off on my first adventure. I cannot wait to see what 2020 has in store for me.

My sisters and I decided to so something fun and spontaneous (and overpriced) in New York City the other day. We visited the Museum of Ice Cream located in Manhattan. The museum to say at the least was not a museum at all, but more of an interactive experience that you could only venture on if you had a sweet tooth.

The museum was completely sold out for the day, its safe to say that the museum is a huge tourist and  local attraction. The only other MOIC is located in San Fransisco. That was the first one built and once seeing how popular it became they decided to expand. Putting their next location in NYC was a good move on their part.

The building isn’t hard to miss, it is completely hot pink and glowing with neon lights. I was doing some research of my own on one of those dumb “what to do in NYC guides” and a category for “Instagram moments” was there. I thought “wow, okay so this is what the 21st century has come to”. I didn’t scroll through it, but if I did the MOIC would 100% be there. Each room had it’s own theme, one being honey, overall pink sweets, bananas, and sprinkles. The whole museum had set up each room to be atheistically pleasing and “instagram worthy”. Photo ops were set up everywhere and people were 100% taking advantage of them (including myself).

The museum also included a huge pool full of sprinkles (fake, of course), a fake subway cart, a slide that take you from the top floor to the bottom, and a dance room.

The museum overall was super fun and definitely worth it if you are looking for something different and cool. Also the ice cream is BOMB!

Peace out!
